This course on focuses on rendering the human form via the study of the skeleton, muscles and tendons. We’ll then place a particular emphasis on the joints and their connectivity with body masses. This allows artists to better understand the body surface landmarks we see in figure movement and their weight displacement. Participants in this class will practice using model photos, medical resources and some video. The drawing medium will be graphite, vine charcoal, a light and dark colored pencil and ink. When the class concludes, you’ll be better prepared to add more dynamic figures into your drawings and paintings and will be more knowledgeable of facial planes in your portraits.
