2026 Art Retreat

Our 2026 Art Retreat was held at Sunday River in Maine. We had 18 artist attend the two and a half day event. Over the course of our time together we laughed, learned, created, and built lasting relationships.

Our agenda consisted of a welcome dinner on night one to kick off the event. The next morning the group tackled some plain air painting. It was a bit rainy but that didn’t stop this group! In the afternoon we focused on still life drawings working mostly in charcoal and graphite.

The following day we started the day with plein air painting again. The rain had passed, the skies were beautiful, and we had some incredible views to inspire us. In the afternoon we headed back outside for some urban sketching. On our final evening we had an art “walkabout” so we could see what everyone had worked on during the retreat. It was so great to see everyone’s work all together, and this gave artists an opportunity to discuss their work and learn from others.

On our last morning, we held an optional sunrise sketching session where a hearty few braved the chilly temps. Seeing that beautiful sunrise was worth the early wake-up!

We all walked away from this retreat energized by our time together. Our community is one of a kind, and we are so thankful for everyone that attended this event.
